1. Introduction
Mohammad Nabulsi ("I", "me", or "my") operates the MeloTouch mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
I am committed to protecting your privacy. This App is designed to function entirely offline with no data collection or transmission to external servers.
2. Information collection and use
2.1 Personal information
MeloTouch does not collect any personal information. I do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number)
- Location data (GPS coordinates, IP address)
- Usage analytics or behavioural data
- Device identifiers (IDFA, Android Advertising ID, IMEI)
- Crash reports or diagnostic information
- User-generated content
- Social media information
- Contact information or address book data
- Photos, camera, or microphone access
- Any other personal or identifying information
2.2 Local data storage
The App stores the following information locally on your device only:
- App settings: your preferences for audio volume, visual effects, haptic feedback intensity, breathing guide timing, and accessibility options
- Theme selection: your currently selected visual theme
- Sound mode: your selected sound mode (Relax, Focus, or Sleep)
- Purchase records: records of premium themes you have unlocked through in-app purchases
- Usage counters (local only): total time spent in the app, the number of separate days you have opened it, and the date you last opened it
- Review prompt state: whether you have been asked to rate the app, and when, so that you are not asked repeatedly
Important: this information is stored exclusively on your device using standard platform storage mechanisms (SharedPreferences on Android, UserDefaults on iOS). It is never transmitted to me or any third party.
3. Third-party services
3.1 In-app purchases
When you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed directly by:
- iOS: Apple App Store (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
- Android: Google Play Store (governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
I do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address. Your purchase is linked to your Apple ID or Google Play account, and Apple/Google handles all payment processing.
3.2 No analytics or advertising
MeloTouch does not integrate any third-party services for:
- Analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.)
- Advertising networks or SDKs
- Crash reporting services (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)
- Social media SDKs (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Any other tracking or data collection services
4. Data security
Since all data is stored locally on your device and nothing is transmitted externally:
- Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, biometric authentication)
- Data may be included in your device backups (iCloud for iOS, Google Backup for Android) if you have enabled device backups
- I have no access to your data
- Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored data
5. Children's privacy
MeloTouch does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).
The App is designed to be safe for users of all ages and complies with:
- COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) in the United States
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) in the European Union
- CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) in California
- Other applicable privacy laws worldwide
Parents and guardians can safely allow children to use this App as it collects no data.
6. Your privacy rights
6.1 Data access and control
Since I do not collect or store any personal data on servers:
- You have complete control over your locally stored app settings
- You can clear all app data by uninstalling the App
- There is no data stored on external servers to request access to or deletion of
6.2 GDPR rights (European users)
While MeloTouch does not collect personal data, if you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you typically have rights under GDPR including:
- Right to access your personal data
- Right to rectification
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to object
Since no data is collected, these rights are inherently fulfilled. You control all local data on your device.
6.3 CCPA rights (California users)
California residents have rights under CCPA. Since MeloTouch does not collect, sell, or share personal information, these rights are automatically satisfied.
7. International data transfers
MeloTouch does not transfer any data internationally because no data is collected or transmitted from your device.
8. Medical disclaimer
MeloTouch is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
The App is designed for relaxation, stress relief, and general wellness. It is not intended to:
- Diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition
- Replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- Be used as a therapeutic tool without consulting a healthcare professional

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. When I make changes:
- The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised
- If changes are material, I may notify users through an in-app message
- The updated policy will be posted at this URL
Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. I encourage you to review this policy periodically.
10. App permissions
iOS
MeloTouch requests no iOS permissions. It shows no permission prompt of any kind, because it needs nothing that requires one.
Android
- INTERNET: required for in-app purchase verification with the Google Play Store. No other network communication occurs.
- VIBRATE: required to provide haptic feedback when you touch the screen. Optional, and you can disable it.
Motion sensors
The App reads your device's accelerometer to detect a shake gesture, which randomises the visual effect. Neither platform requires a permission prompt for this. Nothing from the sensor is stored or transmitted — the reading is used in the moment and discarded.
The App does not request access to:
- Camera or microphone
- Contacts or calendar
- Location services
- Photos or media storage
- Phone or SMS
- Any other sensitive permissions
11. Data retention
Since I do not collect data on servers, there is no data retention policy needed. All data stored on your device remains there until you:
- Manually clear app data through device settings
- Uninstall the App
- Reset your device to factory settings
12. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
For users in the EEA, the legal basis for processing local data on your device is:
- Legitimate interest: storing your preferences locally is necessary for the App to function according to your settings
- Consent: by using the App, you consent to local storage of your settings
